Product Safety Alert

20/12/22

OPSS has issued a new Product Safety Alert for baby self-feeding products presenting a risk of serious harm or death.

This follows a previous safety alert about baby Self-Feeding Pillows / Prop Feeders published on 30 November 2022 and applies to all baby self-feeding products. Baby self-feeding products are designed to enable a baby to be attached to a bottle so that it may self-feed with little to no assistance from a caregiver holding the bottle and controlling the feed. This is inconsistent with NHS guidance in relation to safe bottle feeding.

Older Youths in the Area

These youths have been sighted around Spondon and are being particularly unpleasant to different members of the community.

Please report any concerns to ourselves and the police and encourage your child/children to keep safe at all times.

We are delighted to inform you that from Tuesday the 8th of November, the NHS School Health Team are offering our pupils the opportunity to see a school nurse in drop in sessions that will be held every other Tuesday during break times in school. There is no need to book or to ask permission- anyone can go!

These sessions are entirely confidential and will not be discussed with school staff unless a safeguarding issue is disclosed to the nurse.

Derby City Council is delighted to continue to offer children and families financial support for Free School Meals during the Summer Term break 2022.

For those that are entitled and currently receive free school meals will receive a £60 voucher that can be used at any of the following nine supermarkets, Aldi, Asda, Farm Foods, Iceland, Morrisons, M&S, Sainsbury, Tesco and Waitrose.

Your voucher code must be redeemed by 29 September 2022.

Year 11 Maths Revision Session

In order to support our year 11s further with Maths preparation for their GCSE examinations, we are pleased to offer a revision session during half-term for any interested pupils. The session will take place on Wednesday 1st June, 10am to noon, in S block.

This will provide an opportunity to revise key topics in preperation for papers 2 and 3. Places must be booked and can be done so by completing and returning the parental consent slip that has been provided to all year 11 pupils. Further copies are available from the Maths department or available to download from FireFly. Please return these by Friday 20th May.
